Spruce Up Your Park Station Balcony or Patio for Spring

With spring being in full swing, what better time than now to spruce up your balcony or patio so you can enjoy it through spring and summer? We have some ideas we hope will spark your imagination!

Go with a whimsical theme. Whether that includes decorating with colorful kites, butterflies, or growing wildflowers, whimsy is a hit. Another fun project that is perfectly whimsical is a fairy garden. There are several ways to create a miniature fairy garden to put on your balcony or patio. Purchase a fairy garden kit to put together, or gather supplies from various sources. Start with a suitable container — a terrarium, a glass fishbowl, or a flower pot, for example — for your fairy garden and go from there. You can also check out your local dollar stores and craft stores too.

If whimsy isn’t your thing, being practical can still be chic. Whether or not you have a green thumb, a balcony is a perfect spot for growing a garden at home. Choose a few plants you think you’d appreciate benefitting from (such as tomatoes or herbs) and start small so you can then work up to creating your own plush oasis perfect for your needs.

A balcony is also a good excuse to go furniture shopping and pick out a nice chair for lounging. Add a small table for your laptop, and be sure to include a fun color scheme. Include pillows, cushions, and throws of different colors and textures to mix things up.
