It's Movie Time at Park Station

Park Station Blog, Gaithersburg, MD Valentine's Day, February's big holiday, is nearly here. We've got some movie suggestions to share.

February brings with it Valentine’s Day, which is a great reason to host a movie night at your Park Station apartment (or to simply plan an evening for your sweetheart). We’ve got some ideas about how to plan a successful movie night, including some suggestions for movies to watch.

Set the tone for the evening by decorating with a Valentine’s theme. Be sure to include heart-shaped treats among the snack offerings. Provide cozy blankets and fluffy pillows for your guests so they can be comfortable while they watch the movie. Provide a source of light near the snack table so no one spills while they are restocking. Don’t forget the popcorn! And most of all, have fun.

Movies for Valentine’s Day (and the Rest of the Month)

An Affair to Remember (1957) — Drama, Romance

“A couple falls in love and agrees to meet in six months at the Empire State Building - but will it happen?”

February is An Affair to Remember Month, which makes it the perfect time to watch this classic movie starring Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr. It also begs the question, will you take the chance to seize the day in your own life?

Sleepless in Seattle (1993) — Comedy, Drama, Romance

“A recently widowed man's son calls a radio talk-show in an attempt to find his father a partner.”

Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan sparkle in this movie, even though they don’t actually share much screen time. The precocious son steals the show in his quest to find someone for his dad. Plus, this movie references An Affair to Remember, so watch that one first to get the full effect!

Return to Me (2000) — Comedy, Drama, Romance

Who knew that when he ordered the special, he’d get the dish of his life. David Duchovny and Minnie Driver ignite sparks in the story about a widower and a waitress who meet and fall in love. Their relationship blossoms, and everything is moving along smoothly until an unbelievable truth comes out, and we wonder if they can ride out the storm. (Review from DVD marketing materials.)
